David is a 2nd year MBA and co-chair of the Yale Economic Development club. He previously served as a first-year lead for the symposium in 2023-24.
Prior to SOM, he served as the Director for Shawnee State University's Kricker Innovation Hub, a multi-million entrepreneurship center project. Over the course of his tenure, he secured federal grants totaling $7 million to create the Hub and build a digital and immersive technology accelerator program. He also led a federally funded regional partnership to support entrepreneurship, capacity building, and economic growth. He’s passionate about entrepreneurship and supporting the economic competitiveness of small business.
Avrey Callis is a 1Y lead for the Yale Economic Development Symposium. Avrey is an MBA candidate at the Yale School of Management with a strong interest in business development strategy and public-private partnerships related to energy and critical mineral value chains.
Previously, Avrey served as the Senior International Trade Manager at the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), gaining extensive experience in global trade and economics, business development, and foreign investment. She holds a dual B.A. in Philosophy with an emphasis on ethics, law, and politics, and International Affairs from the University of Nevada, Reno.
At Yale, Avrey is dedicated to advancing research and outreach on critical minerals and their role in the energy transition. She aims to leverage her expertise to promote pragmatic, regionally focused practices and policies within the evolving energy landscape. Passionate about national security, trade policy, and commodity supply chains, Avrey is committed to "digging" into natural resource issues and driving meaningful change in the energy and mineral sectors.
Gabriel is a first-year MBA candidate at the Yale School of Management, focusing on impact investing in developing regions, especially Africa. His background is in international development consulting, where he worked on U.S. Government funded projects in West and Central Africa, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe. His most recent work focused on promoting private-sector engagement in development programming, helping to align the goals of development programs with both multinational and local businesses. At Yale, he is focusing on development finance, impact investing, and emerging market venture capital as methods of improving development outcomes through business and entrepreneurship. Gabriel received a Bachelor’s in International Affairs from George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.
Tungalag is a 1Y lead for the Yale Economic Development Symposium. She brings over six years of experience in accounting and audit, with a strong track record in multinational environments. She began her career at PwC Mongolia and PwC Prague before taking on the role of Senior Finance Specialist at SAP Prague. Her work has focused on technical accounting, external auditing, and financial reporting, managing diverse stakeholders within fast-paced, global organizations.
Currently pursuing a Master’s in Asset Management at Yale School of Management, Tungalag is expanding her expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, and investment decision-making.
Peter is an 1Y MBA Candidate at the Yale School of Management and a Policy Advisor for Greater New Orleans, Inc., Southeast Louisiana’s regional economic development organization. Previously as Policy Director for GNO, Inc., his portfolio encompassed infrastructure, insurance, and the environment at local, state, and federal levels. He oversaw the Coalition for Sustainable Flood Insurance (CSFI), a group of over 800 contacts activated around the reform and reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). He has also directed constituent services for a New Orleans City Council district, clerked for the country’s largest metropolitan planning organization in Los Angeles, and coordinated special projects for a business improvement district in Pasadena, CA. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.
Peter is a is a 1Y lead for the Yale Economic Development Symposium.
Reika Ishii is a 2Y Symposium Lead for the Economic Development Club. Prior to SOM, Reika was working in investment banking at Morgan Stanley in Tokyo. She is passionate about gender equity and global health issues, and has led workshops on these topics in rural areas in Kenya. In investment banking, she spearheaded DEI initiatives, and she hopes to create a more robust inclusion of women in the corporate sector. Reika graduated from Wellesley College in 2020 with a degree in Economics.
Hannah is a 2Y lead with the Economic Development Club. She previously served as a first-year lead for the symposium in 2023-24.
Prior to SOM, Hannah has spent several years leading non-profits in the U.S. and as country manager for a youth employment accelerator in Rwanda.
